LDAP Search Clients

There are many clients that use LDAP services today. Two common Web browsers each have LDAP capability. If you use the import procedure depicted previously, you may immediately work with these clients.

Internet Explorer LDAP Client

Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 5.5 is bundled with Windows 2000. IE 6.0 is bundled with Windows XP. Each will accept an LDAP URL. The URL specifies the LDAP protocol and the DNS path to the LDAP server. We append the LDAP path notation to the URL and hit Enter.
