Linux Server

There is not much difference between installing Linux desktop or server for a standard distribution. A server is actually defined by what is running, system performance tuning, and security measures.

We showed the list of services running in our machine. Is our machine a desktop client machine or a server? It has only one user, so it's properly a desktop machine. We are running a world of services, however. We could say it's a demonstration server. Most of the time, it is being accessed over a network by a Windows XP laptop machine. It's a server with one user. This is why it performs so well with all of those services running. It's idling, waiting for the rest of the crowd to arrive.
