Enabling Multiprocessing

Multiprocessing is available in all versions of Windows. Even the desktop version (Windows 2000 and Windows XP Professional) supports two processors. It is simple to enable. You only need your CD-ROM. The Start>Help facility shows us how to enable multiple processors on your computer. These instructions do not appear in the Windows XP help. Early beta versions of Windows.NET server do have them. Windows XP can be enabled for two processors, so the information should be present in the Windows XP help also.

To upgrade from a uniprocessor to a multiprocessor computer,

Open Device Manager (My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager).
