11.8. Conclusion

We have looked at tools that deal primarily with dividing and merging text files. The tools that allow us to carry out these tasks are sort, join, split, uniq, cut and paste. We have looked at each one using different examples, and seen how using these tools enables you to be more productive in your work. Now when you have to hack around a raw text file, you know what tools you need to turn the data into more meaningful information.
