Prior to our digital age, the intrinsic nature of viewing a photograph has always meant viewing a print. I believe a photograph isn’t truly finished until it’s printed. The content of this chapter presumes you want to print your own photos or have them printed by someone else; we’ll look at both scenarios.

If you’re a wedding or portrait photographer, you’ll first be concerned with presenting proof images to clients prior to making the final prints. Lightroom excels at this. If you’re a nature or landscape photographer, you’re probably most interested in the perfect reproduction of fine detail and subtle tones within each individual photograph. Lightroom handles this with grace. Whether you need to print one photo or lots of them, you’ll quickly find Lightroom’s capabilities are up to the task.
