Following are three sample charters from three very different teams: the Mobile App Team, Team Kurtulmak, and Team Lightning. All three charters belong to real teams. We have altered and omitted specific details to maintain confidentiality.
You will see that each charter includes all three elements from the agile chartering model explained in Chapter 4, Smooth the Path to Performance with Agile Chartering including: a full purpose (product vision, team mission, and mission tests), alignment (simple rules, core team, and working agreements), and context (boundaries and interactions diagrams, committed resources, and prospective analysis).
