About the Authors
Paul Bambrick-Santoyo is the managing director of North Star Academies, seven schools that are a part of the Uncommon Schools network. During Bambrick-Santoyo's ten years at North Star, the schools have seen dramatic gains in student achievement, making them the highest-achieving urban schools in New Jersey and winners of multiple recognitions, including the U.S. Department of Education's National Blue Ribbon Award.
