There Are Three Kinds of People in the World

I am also a believer that there are three kinds of people you will encounter in life:

1. People who make things happen. These are the doers, the movers and shakers. They are at the center of progress. When you see a lot of activity and progress, these people are never far from the action. These are the people who truly are responsible for making the world run and for running the world.

2. People who watch things happen. These are the spectators in life, the armchair quarterbacks. They have “all the answers” but are never part of the solution. They always have the answers though they've never applied them, and can tell you how to do something better though they've never attempted it. In the words of Theodore Roosevelt, “Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.”1

3. People who wonder what happened. They are the poor, oblivious souls who are not engaged enough to be part of the game so they live their lives in the dark and allow other people to set the agenda and make decisions for them.
