Lieutenant Raleigh and Doctor Homansky stood side-by-side with Lisa and Mason and stared at the video screen. On it, Ginny Gerard and Louie Pitchersky floated in zero gravity, surrounded by various types of equipment and research bays.
“Have you tried rebooting the satellite’s main computer system?” asked Kristie.
“We did,” replied Louie. “No luck. The escape pod will not power up. We can release the docking clamp manually, but unless the life pod’s system boots up, we won’t have control of its angle of descent.”
“What do you think the problem is? Any ideas?” asked Kristie.
