Understanding the Challenge Rules

The Mars Base Beta challenge has a number of rules that must be followed by teams and individuals. If multiple teams are running the challenge, rules can be altered or removed if all players are in agreement. The rules for the Mars Base Beta challenge follow:

  1. The robot created to attempt the missions must be built using parts from a LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT robotics kit (Retail or Education version 1.0 or higher).
  2. A minimum of one robotics kit must be used to build the robot; special commendations are available for successful completion of missions using a single robotics kit.
  3. A maximum of two robotics kits may be used to build the robot.
