Tackling the Lander Challenge
Your first task will be to use the building instructions at the end of this chapter to build the completed Lander Mark VII. Chapter 9 will provide details on how to “damage” the lander in preparation for running the Mars Base Gamma challenge. For now, however, just build the lander and attach all parts as described in Chapters 7 and 8.
After you’ve assembled the lander, you’ll notice that the entire assembly consists of smaller subassemblies as follows:
- Chassis
- Battery
- Cutter
- Front arms
- Grappling gun
- Samples box
- Communications umbrella
- Vacuum
