Taking on One Challenge at a Time
The solar collector model is the most difficult model your robot will encounter in the Mars Alpha Base challenge. Not only must your robot find the SC and correctly align itself so that it can turn the crank but it must continue to rotate the crank until the SC is turned 180 degrees.
As was suggested in Chapters 2 and 3, the best way to tackle this challenge is to build a single robot that will find and turn the SC’s crank. Don’t worry about the PID or the PR devices; build and program a robot to successfully complete the solar collector challenge, and everything else will fall into place.
