Designing Your Own Challenges

Since writing LEGO Mindstorms NXT: The Mayan Adventure back in 2006, I’ve been asked many times by teachers, parents, and students how I go about designing a challenge. They ask questions like, “Do you start with the story?” or “Do you build the models first?” I’ve been asked if I always know how the story ends, and I even had one student request to be a character in a future story.
