Preparation Phase

The preparation phase gets things going quickly. The philosophy of “just do it” doesn't fully capture the spirit of successive approximation, although it's close in many ways. We want to get into the consideration of alternatives as a means of research rather than exhaustively studying the situation, writing reports, and still not having a clear idea of what would be best to do (although from all the time and effort spent, exhaustive efforts may make it feel like the path is clear and ready for paving even when it isn't). We do want to:

  • gather knowledge of the situation to understand challenges
  • be aware of opportunities ...
