well-formed

A term describing a document that conforms to the syntax rules of XML. For example, in a well-formed document, tags have proper delimiters, an end tag follows a start tag, and elements do not overlap.

working draft

An in-progress version of a specification produced by a standards body working group. A working draft often changes substantially before the recommendation phase.
