A universal API
Another aim is to create a universal API, given all the advancement of the REST API plugin. When developers were asked about this, they stated that one of the biggest concerns out there is the difficulty of creating a perfect balance, as adding default endpoints in the core has a lot of complexity in terms of ensuring the correct data is in the proper place. Another thing to set is that the balance varies, competing concerns might sometimes arise, and in that case it represents a major challenge, which is why its development might take more time than expected.
