API scripts can be used to do things outside the scope of a table's method, such as making HTTP requests to call other web services and performing push notification requests (this will be discussed in the next chapter). We can still access tables through the
request.service.tables object, which exposes our tables and all their methods. However, these methods go directly into the table and not through the API. Hence, any table script modifications will be bypassed.
