Chapter 10.  Certificate Management for a vSphere Environment

Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificates are used to keep sensitive information sent between vSphere components encrypted so that only the intended recipient can decrypt it. When SSL certificates are used, the information is unreadable to anything other than the recipient that the information is sent to. This protects the information from being intercepted, thereby decreasing the possibility of a man-in-the-middle attack. vSphere 6 changes the way that SSL certificates are managed for vSphere components.

In this chapter, you will learn:

  • SSL certificate concepts
  • How VMware products use SSL certificates
  • Using the SSL Certificate Manager Utility
  • Installing the default root certificate
  • Managing ...
