Chapter 4. Configuring a Guest OS for vRealize Automation vSphere Blueprints

Now that we have completed the installation and successfully passed the functional validation phase 1 (Chapter 3, Functional Validation – Phase 1 and Installing Secondary Nodes), we will continue to focus our efforts on the configuration of a guest operating system (GOS) before it can be used during the creation of a vSphere Blueprint.

While vRealize Automation supports several methods to provision virtual machines, we will be focusing on the following:

  • Scenario: This provisions machines by cloning from a template object created from an existing Windows or Linux machine called the reference machine and a customization specification
