When building server software, the software needs to be sent from development computers to test computers or production computers. Development computers are the computers where the programmers actually write the source code. Test computers are the computers where all the pieces of the packaged software are tested together. On small projects, development computers and test computers are often the same. The test computer should be the place where the code changes from all the different programmers come together to be tested.
