Your Computer Is Magic

You might sense a contradiction. Here I am telling you that computers are magic, even though I just told you that computers are stupid. Well, they are stupid; I’m not backing down. They are magic, too, perhaps because they are stupid. Computers will do anything we ask, and fast. So we can ask them to do anything we can imagine. We have imagined some cool things: the Internet, cellphones, videoconferencing, missions to the moon, ways to find old friends and new friends, translations—the list goes on and continues to expand.
