Let's get started with SplunkJS

This is where the fun really starts. We are going to download SplunkJS, add it to our working directory for our new web server, and use one of the test web pages to make sure we can connect to our Splunkenvironment:

  1. Log back into your development environment, where you have just set up your new web server, and move to the /tmp directory.
  2. Download SplunkJS in the /tmp directory so that you can start working with it. As we stated earlier in this chapter, it can be downloaded from the following URL: http://dev.splunk.com/view/SP-CAAAEWR.
  3. At the time of writing this book, the version of the download was 1.1. Unzip or uncompress the file you have downloaded and we will move around the parts that we want to use.
