Summary

In this chapter, we did a lot of work to enhance the user experience of our Splunk App by working within Simple XML to speed up the delivery of our charts and visualizations to our users. We introduced post processing searches to ensure that we are not wasting the processing power of our Splunk Search server. We were able to configure our example to ensure that only one main search is performed, with the data then feeding into the rest of our panels on the dashboard. We also set up a scheduled search to run at a specific time so that our data would be available to present in our visualizations before they are loaded, speeding up the process even further.
