In any business application, it is paramount that data is kept in a replicated manner since hardware can break at any time without giving any warning. In order to have continuance of the business, it becomes necessary that when the master database goes down, the replicated database can be used instead, which in a way guarantees quality of service. Another advantage of having replicated data is realized when the traffic on one database goes up and it negatively impacts the performance of the solution.
