Launching Transformations and Jobs from the Command Line

Despite having used Spoon as the tool to run jobs and transformations, you may also run them from a Terminal. In fact, running them like this is the chosen method for production environments.

This chapter is a reference not only to run jobs and transformations from the command line, but also to deal with the output of the executions. The topics covered are as follows:

  • Using the Pan and Kitchen utilities
  • Checking the exit code
  • Using command-line arguments
  • Generating log files with the output of executions
