Loading Type II SCDs with a dimension lookup/update step

As we did for a Type I SCD, we will load a Type II SCD by example. We will load the PUZZLE dimension, which contains name and category for puzzles. As the puzzles are regrouped from time to time, we want to keep the history of the category or theme to which each puzzle belonged in time. The source of our dimension will be the product table, and the dimension table that we will load is lk_puzzle.

We load SCD Type II with a Dimension lookup/update step. The main difference between this step and the Combination lookup/update step that you saw before is that the Dimension L/U step has the ability to keep a history of changes in the data.
