When the fact table's grain is at the transaction level, we could also have columns with ticket number, check number, or transaction ID. As these fields allow filtering or grouping, they can also be seen as dimensions. As they are part of the fact table, they are called degenerate dimensions. These particular dimensions don't fall in any of the categories explained, as there is no associated dimension table.
