Modifying the Kettle home directory

As explained, PDI takes the general configuration files from the Kettle home directory located by default in the user home folder. There are several situations where you would like to have multiple Kettle directories or a single one in a different location. These are some examples:

  • You have a PDI installation shared by several projects. You need a separate kettle.properties files, one for each different project.
  • In the same machine, you want to switch between development and production. You want to have two kettle.properties files, one for each environment.
