PDI offers several steps to read text files. In the tutorial, we used the most generic one, the Text file input step. The following table summarizes the options:

This step is used to read a variety of text-files types, including CSV files and fixed-width flat files. |
This is the most generic step for reading files, offering a great flexibility for configuring the lecture. As explained in the previous sections, with this step, it is possible to read several files at the same time, as soon as they share the same format. |
