Summary

This chapter explained in detail how to run Jobs and transformations from a Terminal window using the Kitchen and Pan command-line programs respectively. You learned how to use the Kitchen and Pan utilities and saw the most commonly used command-line options available. You also learned how to check the exit code to know the end status of an execution. In addition, you learned how to generate log files both with the command-line utilities and by configuring Job and Transformation entries.

The lessons learned so far gave you the basis of PDI. In the next chapter, you will find useful information to go further, ranging from applying best practices to deploying a project in a production environment.
