Tables

The Tables node under Data Dictionary in the AOT corresponds to tables in the database. When a table is created in the AOT, it is automatically synchronized with the SQL server. The synchronization process runs scripts in the background to make sure that the SQL table is created/updated to reflect the table in the AOT.

Note

A table in AX should always be created from the AOT and never by running a SQL script or by creating a new table using the SQL Server Management Studio as AX also creates additional system fields in the tables and also keeps references to the tables and its fields in system tables.

Creating a table

To create a new table, open the AOT, expand the Data Dictionary node, and then the Tables node. Right-click on the Tables
