I love books. I really love books. Anyone who’s known me for any amount of time knows I’m a total bookworm. Well-written books are one of the cheapest and fastest self-education tools. I can remember a number of books that were hugely significant in my personal and professional development—books like Object Oriented Software Construction by Bertrand Meyer, Scott Knaster and Stephen Chernicoff’s early Mac programming books, Dave Mark’s C programming books, Robert C. Martin’s horribly titled (but full of wonderful a-ha! moments) Designing Object Oriented C++ Applications Using the Booch Method, and, of course, the late W.
