25. Going Universal
There are three types of iOS apps: iPad-only, iPhone-only, and universal. Much of what you have learned about creating iPad apps in this book applies to creating iPhone apps as well. Thus, if you are armed with the skills needed to create an iPad app, then you surely have the skills to create an iPhone app. So why limit your app to one device or the other? Why not make your app available to both iPad and iPhone devices?
There are two ways to accomplish this. You can create two separate apps, one for each device type, or you can create a universal app. A universal app is a single application optimized for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch devices.
