Aren’t books great?

Anyone who’s known me for any amount of time knows I’m a total bookworm. I love books. Well-written books are one of the cheapest and fastest tools for self-education. I can remember a number of books that were hugely significant in my personal and professional development—books like Object Oriented Software Construction by Bertrand Meyer; Scott Knaster and Stephen Chernicoff’s early Mac programming books; Dave Mark’s C programming books; Robert C. Martin’s horribly titled (but wonderfully full of aha! moments) Designing Object Oriented C++ Applications Using the Booch Method; and of course the late W.
