Founded in 1910, the National Urban League (NUL) is a historic civil rights organization that aims to enable African Americans and other underserved communities to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power, and civil rights. NUL has local affiliates in 36 states and the District of Columbia. NUL’s model utilizes a hub-and-spoke structure, in which NUL plays a central role in essential activities such as leveraging and blending funding, maintaining and enhancing funder relationships, raising awareness, providing technical assistance and training, and managing contracts.
