The merits of a dedicated team

As with any high-profile project, it's worth considering the merits of having a dedicated team focused on the implementation of CD and DevOps. This is the approach ACME took and although it worked for them, it's your call whether you go down this route or not. There may be a temptation to run the implementation as a skunk works project. This type of project will tend to bubble along in the background and be staffed by like-minded individuals who have an interest but don't have the backing or reach needed to make sweeping changes, nor the free time to dedicate to make it truly successful.
