Summary

In this chapter, we understood discovery services, why it is very important while developing services or applications in a CoreOS environment, how to publish a service and its parameters, and how to watch for changes in the state of the services. We also learned about the two important tools, etcdctl and curl, that are widely used for service discovery, with some examples.

In the next chapter, we will learn how different services running inside a CoreOS cluster can communicate with each other using service chaining mechanisms.
