The CoreOS node in a cluster comprises the following main components:
- etcd
- systemd
- fleet
- Docker/Rocket containers

The CoreOS node runs etcd, systemd, and the fleet service in all of the nodes in the cluster. etcd, which is running in all the nodes, talk to each other and elects one node as the master node. All the services running inside the node will be advertised to this master node, which makes etcd provide a service discovery mechanism.
