Notifications
We have already seen build status notifications through IDE integrations. Notifications can also be configured to be sent through e-mail, Jabber, and also by using the Windows Tray Notifier. There are also a number of plugins to add support to send notifications through other mediums (such as Twitter).
The following screenshot shows the Quick View window of the Windows Tray Notifier:
Tip
There are also TeamCity apps for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone that can be used to get a quick view on the build status even on the move (use sparingly, however).
