Summary

In this chapter, we studied what concurrent programming is and why Scala is a good language for concurrency. We gave a brief overview of what you will learn in this book, and how the book is organized. Finally, we stated some Scala preliminaries necessary for understanding the various concurrency topics in the subsequent chapters.
