Recap

Basic file management is a task that you must perform if you wish to store persistent information on a physical storage medium and retrieve that information at a later time. In this chapter, you learned about files and how they’re organized in the file system. You learned how to identify and access files, and you learned the basic tasks necessary to open and save files. You also learned how to create and display dialogs to solicit information from users when opening and saving files. Finally, you added an itinerary window to the Moon Travel Planner application and wrote the code to open and save itinerary files. In the next chapter, you’ll learn how to provide help to your users.
