Summary

You’ve seen how rigging is the most technical and complex part of the process. It takes time and it can be frustrating when the rig doesn’t behave as you expect. There are quicker ways to create rigs, such as the Rigify add-on, which automatically generates a very cool biped rig based on the proportions you set for your character. But if your character isn’t a biped, premade rigs aren’t going to help much. Therefore it’s nice if you do the rigging manually at least a few times in different models, so you can understand the process and how it works. Sometimes you need rigs for very simple things; in those situations, knowing how to rig manually will prove really useful. Now Jim is much closer to coming to life!
