Nodes
Every element, whether it is a curve, surface, deformer, light, texture, expression, modeling operation, or animation curve, is described by either a single node or a series of connected nodes.
A node is a generic object type. Different nodes are designed with specific attributes so that the node can accomplish a specific task. Nodes define all object types including geometry, shading, and lighting.
