11. Applying Effects to the GameObjects

In this chapter we’ll be looking at ways to polish the game in a variety of ways. First, we’ll explore the Shuriken Particle System and discuss how it works. We’ll put the system to use, creating some particle effects—visual effects that are often composed of several 2D sprites and/or 3D objects—to play at a couple of key moments during gameplay.

After that, we’ll go over Unity’s audio system and the various Components that create a functional audio experience. We’ll use the system to provide audio feedback for several important player events, such as movement and damage.
