Creating a Splash Screen

The first thing we can add is a splash screen. This is an image or background that is displayed (splashed) on screen before the title or menu screen is shown. Its purpose is to show publisher or developer logos or any acknowledgments you might want to include. The awesome 2D artist who provided us with all of the assets we are using has also provided us with a sponsor image. Since he has so graciously let us use a lot of his work, the least we can do is let others know, right?

Note

We are using a Scene to create a splash screen in our game, but this is not the same as the Splash Image setting in the Player Settings, which we will discuss in Chapter 13, “Bringing It All Together.”
