Unity also supports a lot of the popular 2D formats, including Photoshop’s PSD format. Unfortunately, it does flatten the PSD layers upon import into Unity. We will mostly be using 2D formats in this book, and later we will review some Import Settings for optimizing our assets. Here are some of the more popular 2D image formats that Unity supports:
