File Formats

Before we import our assets, let’s take a look at the types of formats Unity can handle and how they can be used. Unity supports most file types, including native formats in both 2D programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop and 3D packages like 3ds Max and Maya. This means you can have an interoperable workflow, create the asset in your program, save the file to disk, and instantly see your updates in Unity.
