Hardware keyloggers

A hardware keylogger is an electronic device that is capable of capturing keystrokes from a keyboard. It comes in different formats and can record videos, take screenshots, or even record voice.

Hardware keyloggers are not just used for social engineering but if the attacker has physical access to your computer, these kinds of attacks are hardest to detect if you aren't careful of your surroundings. As most hardware keyloggers do not need system access for installation, they can be undetectable compared to software keyloggers.

In addition, it was recently reported that some laptop manufacturers had built-in keyloggers installed, which are nearly impossible to detect by the average user.
