Emails from a friend, there is a snowball effect when hackers successfully hack one's email account. The hacking could be done through password profiling or sending a cloned email login site to the victim. Once hackers can access the victim's email, they can use it to exploit their friends. Based on social engineering reports, the following are some of the types of messages aimed at exploiting a victim's friends through email:

  • Emails that contain links: Social engineers are confident in the power of friendship and the trust that comes with it.
