Operation Mobile Phone Fraud

Our new example is a professor at the age of 70, who is famous for her books about healthy diets. She inadvertently handed over almost $30,000 to phone scammers. Scammers got her phone number from her website and called her pretending as if they were police officers and prosecutors. She got her money back when the scammers were caught by the police a week later. She summarized the scam in her testimony as follows.
